The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of “the Nagahama Junior Athlete Training program” for gain coordination skills in Nagahama, Shiga Prefecture, by comparing the results of the first and last physical tests conducted at the Nagahama Junior Athlete Training program in each year, as well as by examining the effects of each exercise class. Furthermore, the study also aimed to obtain important information regarding coordination training and create a program based on these points. Generally, it was seen that the programs designed and developed by the research group resulted in improvement of coordination skills, although this improvement did not prove to be statistically significant. The results of program reconstruction in each year were also found to be reasonable. In addition, the following information was obtained through the process of verifying experience-based coordination exercise training. (1) Coordination skills are more influenced by an individual’s developmental growth environment, especially the motor component, rather than their physical growth and basic motor skills. (2) Increasing the amount of exercise time required to develop coordination skills is important to further improve movement skills. (3) The program must be moderately stimulating for the participating children. (4) It is important to set up a conducive learning environment as an indirect means to facilitate learning. In summary, we believe that we were able to gather meaningful information about coordination exercise training through the verification reports on long-term efforts, and through the process of trial and error on the part of the program builders. This information may be of use to future instructional practices and research. |
