The word“sport”is used with various meaning. Therefore, at first, we investigate it from the viewpoint of five areas in the movement-culture. Five areas in the movement-culture are “daily movement”,“working movement”,“sport movement”,“expressional movement”and “physical educational movement”. Second, we investigate it from the viewpoint of individual lifelong sport. We think these two viewpoints will make the methodology in“sportology”. For constructing“sportology”, it is necessary for us to be strongly conscious of four steps in scientific studies. These steps are“clarification of the subject”,“presentation of hypothesis”, “proof of hypothesis through the experiment”and“official announcement of the result”. Especially, we must carefully examine the step of“clarification of the subject”and“presentation of hypothesis”. Further, it is necessary for us to investigate three levels in the recognition of the“cause and effect relation”. These three levels in the recognition of cause-effect relation are the level of“hypothetical recognition”,“elemental recognition”and“inevitable recognition”.
