内容記述タイプ Abstract
内容記述 This study aimed to examine the educational effectiveness of joint techniques in judo classes. A survey was conducted for 150 university students who had attended a judo class at a physical education teacher training university in the Kansai area, after the students had been taught a joint technique (Udehishigi-juji-gatame). The results revealed the following.
1. Many respondents (117; 78.0%) answered that they enjoyed learning joint techniques.
2. Many respondents (130; 86.7%) answered that learning joint techniques was difficult.
3. Many respondents (118; 78.7%) answered that they could safely perform Randori, incorporating joint techniques.
4. Many respondents (102; 68.0%) answered that they enjoyed Randori using joint techniques.
5. Most of the respondents (145; 96.7%) answered that they could understand the dangers of joint techniques.
6. Many respondents (134; 89.3%) answered that it was painful when they were taught joint techniques.
7. Most of the respondents (143; 95.3%) answered that they could understand the pain and suffering of others through the study of joint techniques.
8. Most of the respondents (147; 98.0%) answered that through the study of joint techniques, they could understand that judo has aspects of martial arts (to kill and injure people).
9. Many respondents (130; 86.7%) answered that joint techniques were useful for self-defense.
10. Most of the respondents (136; 90.7%) answered that there was a need to learn joint techniques to understand human pain and suffering and that judo has a martial arts (killing and injuring people) aspect.
These results suggest an educational effectiveness of joint techniques in judo classes. It is necessary to verify whether learning joint techniques can enhance the ability to consider the opponent’s position and act accordingly. As some participants did not believe or understand the educational effectiveness of joint techniques in judo classes, it is necessary to carefully consider the introduction of joint techniques in judo classes at junior high schools and high schools in the future.
