| 内容記述 | A reception in volleyball refers to receiving a serve from an opponent and receiving the ball. Previous studies have reported varying results regarding the effect of receptions on match outcomes, possibly influenced by the different levels of competition. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of reception success rate on the outcome of matches in the women’s third division of Kansai University Volleyball Federation. The target games were all seven matches (23 sets) of the University of B women’s volleyball team in the women’s third division of the 2019 Kansai University Volleyball Autumn League. Successful reception trials were considered Pass A (receptions returned to the setter’s set-up position) and Pass B (receptions returned within a radius of 1–2 m of the setter’s set-up position). All other receptions were considered failed trials. Hence, in the women’s third division of the 2019 Kansai University Volleyball Autumn League, the success rate of receptions had no effect on games, the success rate of receptions at University of B had no effect on game set acquisitions, and successful receptions resulted in higher rates of subsequent spike success. This suggests that although successful receptions do not directly affect the outcome of a match in the women’s third division of the Kansai University Volleyball League, a successful reception would increase the success rates of subsequent attacks. |
