| 内容記述 | Sport has seen changing times towards a greater to business orientation since the 1980’s. TV rights fees for the Olympic Games and FIFA World Cup have rapidly increased and the widening gaps between major sports and minor sports have occurred in terms of financial strengths. Business has become the important partner with sport management. The North American Society of Sport Management（NASSM）has been discussing how to develop the curriculum to satisfy the changing needs in undergraduate and graduate programs in North American universities. In 1993 and further revised in 2000, the NASSM developed the standardized sport management curriculum for undergraduate and graduate programs in conjunction with the National Association for Sport and Physical Education（NASPE） and created the Sport Management Program Review Council（SMPRC）. The number of faculties or courses of sport management（sport business）has been increasing in Japanese colleges and universities every year without any grounded research. However it seems that a chaotic situation might occur in Japanese colleges because there is no standardized curriculum for sport management in Japanese colleges yet. The purpose of this study was to discuss how the sport management curriculum in Japanese colleges should be directed in the future. Finally, the following four suggestions for future directions of sport management programs in Japanese colleges were shown.（1）The balance between theory and field experiences in sport management is important.（2）The academic associations such as the Japanese Association of Sport Management along with the other similar associations should play important leading roles to develop the curriculum in sport management.（3）The standardized curriculum of sport management should be developed, based on Japanese needs and current situation.（ 4）There is a need to foster professors who can teach and educate the qualified sport management programs at Japanese colleges by various means such as making an alliance with the NASSM. | |||||||||||||
