This study examined the effects of the 2019 FINA rules amendments on the numbers of shoots, goals, and fouls in Japanese inter-high school water polo competition games. Official statistics for 16 games (8 games each in 2018 and 2019) were analyzed. The number of shoots per game was 67.3 ± 5.9 (mean ± SD) and 61.1 ± 4.3 in 2018 and 2019, respectively, and the number of goals per game was 27.6 ± 3.6 and 19.4 ± 4.0 in 2018 and 2019, respectively; the numbers of shoots and goals were significantly lower in 2019 than in 2018 ( p < 0.05 ). Contrariwise, the number of contra fouls was significantly higher in 2019 than in 2018 (10.1 ± 2.7 and 6.5 ± 3.4, respectively, p < 0.05). Although the reasons for the decreases in the numbers of shoots and goals and increase in the number of fouls were unclear, these changes were not what FINA intended.}, pages = {69--75}, title = {2019年のルール改定による日本高等学校選手権水球競技における試合展開の変化}, year = {2021}, yomi = {ムラセ, ヨウスケ and カワイ, ヒデユキ} }
