Olympism by Coubertin aimed at Universal Peace. He thought that wars were produced by ignorance for others and other nations. It was therefore necessary to resolve this ignorance with the action ― that the youth of the world meet each other and be exposed to other cultures in the Olympics every four years. In the Olympics, they can understand the existence of various nations and learn about the spirit of mutual understanding and respect through sport, with these behaviors leading to become the foundation of coexistence and prosperity. It can be said that this interpretation was the meaning of International Friendship in Coubertin’s Olympism. He presented the concepts of the Olympic Truce as the attitude of the spectators in which the Olympics would be held with a common purpose. He also stated that the spectator’s “exclusively nationalistic feelings”,“ hostilities, disputes, misunderstandings” and“ wars” should cease. It can be said that this way of thinking indicated the Olympic movement as a Peace Movement, which it intended the Olympic idea to spread over whole societies surrounding Olympics, as well as on the athletic field. For this reason, the concept of Olympic Truce can be another element of Olympism.}, pages = {129--137}, title = {体育理論における「スポーツの国際親善や世界平和における役割」の理解に向けて : オリンピックを対象とした教材内容に関する一解説}, year = {2018}, yomi = {クロス, アカリ} }
